NON URGENT TEXTING & CALLING BETWEEN 8am- 10pm Only Please

Urgent calls are available 24/7 “I’m in labor” is considered an urgent call.

I am on-call to attend your birth two weeks before your estimated due date until your baby is born.

If you call and I do not answer please leave me a message and I will return your call promptly (within an hour or less).

Prenatals / Preparing for your birth

During these meetings we become more acquainted and begin building our rapport and relationship. I answer your questions and thoroughly cover topics such as healthy pregnancy, preparing your body mind and spirt for birth, coping techniques, common interventions, helping you communicate better with medical staff, postpartum plan and recovery, baby care, referrals as needed, and much more.

I will provide you 3 prenatal visits.

Prenatal #1

The first prenatal visit is done over Google Meet to help you to create a clear vision of what your ideal birth looks like. I will share a Birth Preferences Document with you to go over while we discuss your many options for your individualized plan. This session will leave you feeling informed, educated and ready to create a game plan for a satisfying and memorable birth experience. (2hrs.)

Prenatal #2

Our next visit is over Google Meet as well. Building on our first prenatal session, we go deeper into the phases of labor, partner support, when to call your doula, and how to create a supportive birth environment- what to bring to the hospital -  while exploring your wishes, fears, and desires to shape care that feels aligned and grounded.

Prenatal #3

The third prenatal visit is done in your home.

We will practice positioning, pushing phase, coping techniques, talk more about laboring at home, and “framing your labor”. We will in essence walk through a practice run and come together as a birth team, feeling confident and prepared for your big day.

Labor, Birth and Immediate Postpartum

I prefer you to call me when you know you are in labor, even if you do not yet need me.

I will answer questions and make suggestions over the phone. We will decide if I should come right then or wait for further change. I need approximately 1.5 hours to get to you from the time that you ask me to join you. We will then decide on our meeting place, hospital, birth center, or at your home. Except for extraordinary circumstances I or my back up doula will remain with you throughout your active labor and birth. I remain with you for one hour after your birth, until you are comfortable and your family is ready for quiet time together. I help with initial skin-to-skin, breastfeeding and bonding time with baby.

Postpartum Check-Ins

I am available for any postpartum related questions and/or referrals for up to 8 weeks postpartum, 24/7 for urgent calls and 8am-10pm for non-urgent calls please. I offer 1 postpartum consultations via Google Meet (in person if needed) within 4 weeks postpartum. Please do stay in touch, I love getting updates and pictures, I really do enjoy hearing from you, even if you just want to say hi, please do.

What Doulas Do NOT Do

Preform clinical tasks, such as blood pressure, fetal heart tones, vaginal exams and other medical procedures.

I am here to provide education, physical comfort, guidance, advocacy and emotional support to you and your partner.

Failure to Provide Birth Doula Services

I will make every effort to provide the services described here.

If my failure to attend your birth is due to my error, sickness or failure to provide service, I will refund you your money minus the retainer fee. (This covers my on-call time and prenatal support and consultations).

I will continue to offer you postpartum support and consultations as planned.

If you were to have a PLANNED cesarean (i.e breech baby) and do not wish for me to attend your birth, I will add 6hrs of postpartum care and services. These hours must be used with 4 weeks of delivery in 3hr increments. NO refund applies and we will proceed as with any birth and I will support you before, during (if possible) and after your planned cesarean birth. There is a lot a doula can offer to help relax, calm and nurture you through the process. While having a doula attend your birth has been proven to be extremely beneficial to the outcome of your birth and overall satisfaction, I am not responsible the choices you make and/or the circumstances or outcome of your birth (i.e precipitous labor, cesarean, induction, use of epidural). I will support any of the choices you make during your labor without judgment. I will gently remind you if there is a departure from your initial preferences and help you make an informed decision that works best for you and your family. Failure to CALL your doula when you are in labor, NO refund applies. It is important that you CALL me when you are in labor. It is your responsibility to do so.

I am very excited that we will be working together!

Thank you for taking the time to read and understand our commitments to each other.

Please do let me know if you have any further questions.

Fees

Birth Doula: $3,200

Half of this fee ($1,600) is due upfront upon signing this contract, as a retainer which goes towards your prenatal visits, prep, on call time 24/7 from 38 weeks on, and holds your spot on my calendar, as well as my backup doula to attend your birth.

The remainder of the fee ($1,600) is due by week 36 of your pregnancy.

You will receive a reminder from me before the second payment is due. It is very important that you make your second payment on time. Failure to make your second payment on time will result in a late fee of $225. If then, the second payment plus the $225 late fee is not received by week 38, I will not attend your birth and our contract is void. No refund applies for a void contract.
